That's me on the left...

and that's my husband, Mike, on the right.  This picture was taken just a couple of days before our second grandson was born.  Yep, we're looking at the empty nest thing.  We live in Sturgis, SD.  Maybe you've heard of our little town...it's developed quite a reputation over the years.  To be honest with you, we prefer what this area has to offer the other 50 weeks of the year, when things are quiet, peaceful and less congested. The trade off, however, is that there are a few things we don't have easy access to; like variety and selection choice when it comes to shopping.  Thankfully, between the internet and parcel delivery services, our geographic limits have been eliminated.

How did Scent Ability get it's start?
I love designer fragrances. I don't love their price tag.  So several years ago I began wearing perfume oils, and was thrilled that - because of the price -  I didn't have to limit myself to just a single fragrance!  You know how a gal can never have too many shoes or purses?  Well, I found a way to make that possible with perfume!
This had been my little closet secret for years.  Then one day, a dear friend had declared a girl-time-get-away, and away we went.  It was while we were wandering around  stores that had more to offer than Sturgis Rally T-shirts and motorcycle leathers, that I saw some of the most beautiful perfume bottles I had ever laid eyes on.
The eight hour drive home gave me lots of time to imagine how beautiful those bottles would look on my dressing table, filled with my favorite fragrances.
Fast forward a few months. Mike and I were on our way to Wal-Mart, and discussing reality of college tuition, economic challenges and our empty nesters' need for something to do; when the concept finally came together and Scent Ability was born. So thank you, Jimmie Bratcher, for your song: Green Bananas, as well as your book, Don't Take Your Dreams To The Grave.  Thank you Jim Richards for drilling into our heads, "When opportunity comes knocking, it's often dressed in overalls and looks like work."  Thank you everyone at Believers Fellowship Ministries in Sturgis, SD.

Blessings!
